Terms & Conditions for supply/application of grit (rock salt)

Thomas Angel Gardens Ltd (TAGL) undertake to provide grit.  Where the word 'grit' or 'gritting' is used, it is taken to mean rock salt or the application of rock salt.

Gritting
1.  When used on this website, the word ‘gritting’ shall mean the application of rock salt by hand or shovel or spreader to an area designated/requested by the customer.
2.  No guarantee is made by TAGL as to the quantity of such rock salt that will be applied when TAGL carry out gritting works.
3.  Further, TAGL cannot guarantee the quality of rock salt.
4.  Customers should be aware that rock salt can have/has corrosive properties. TAGL accept no liability for any property damage, staining or other losses arising from or connected to the supply or application of rock salt.
5.  TAGL reserve their right to use other brands of rock salt as they see fit.
6.  TAGL also undertake to spread rock salt at sites under their customers’ control.
7.  Whilst reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that customers' premises are gritted thoroughly, TAGL cannot guarantee that gritting will reduce the amount of ice or snow present. 
8. Further, TAGL do not guarantee the duration of the effectiveness of the rock salt.
9.  Where repeat visits are necessary due to a prolonged cold spell, and where the customer has arranged ongoing visits with Thomas Angel, TAGL will endeavour to attend at least once a week; it is understood that this may not always be possible.
10.  TAGL cannot guarantee that gritting will eliminate or reduce the risk of slipping on ice or snow.
11.  Customers should be aware that gritting is recognised to be less effective at temperatures of -5° C or lower. TAGL cannot guarantee the effectiveness of grit or rock salt at these temperatures.
12.  Third parties use the gritted areas at their own risk. When ordering grit or gritting services from TAGL, customers accept that this does not create additional duties to third parties.
13.  When performing the aforementioned services, nothing in any implied or express terms on this website shall be understood as imposing upon TAGL a higher standard of care than currently exists [at common law or under statute.] For the avoidance of doubt, this is understood to mean reasonable care.
14. Whilst reasonable efforts will be made by TAGL to attend customers’ premises promptly after emergency call outs, it is understood that this may not always be possible.
