Gardening team

Thomas Angel is the managing director of Thomas Angel Gardens Ltd.  After serving his apprenticeship with the award winning company Bartholomew Landscapes, Thomas worked in various other parts of the industry before setting up his own business in 2006.   Thomas has a broad knowledge of all aspects of horticulture and is able to advise on any aspect of grounds maintenance or gardening work.  Thomas is a keen hill walker and general outdoors enthusiast.

Paul Brown is our senior supervisor.  After studying horticulture at Langside college, Paul joined the business in 2008.  His specialist area is plant pests and diseases, though Paul has extensive knowledge on all aspects of horticulture. Paul is a keen footballer in his spare time.

James Bruce is an engineering student helping us out during a year off.  James is a hard worker who has become increasingly knowledgeable with his gardening work.  A talented rugby player, James is always on hand when there is heavy work to be done!

David Maitland joined the company in 2010 and is an enthusiastic and hard working seasonal member of the team. David comes from a family of foresters and outdoorsy folk in the highlands, and has rapidly become a knowledgeable and capable gardener.  David is keen cyclist and musician.

Iain Bell is an experienced gardener who has years of experience of grounds maintenance around Glasgow and on the Isle of Arran, where he is from.  Iain is particularly experienced with all the machinery we use.  Iain is a keen cyclist and snowboarder.

Dougal Squires helps us out on an occasional basis and is another enthusiastic member of the team.

We are also ably assisted by a pool of thoroughly vetted temporary staff members when needs arise.
